(I’ll buttress on this a bit more……)
P.S: KINDLY REFER TO PREVIOUS POST BEFORE READING THIS. IT’S A FLOW OF THOUGHT. THERE’S A BEGINNING AND THIS IS NOT IT🌚
Let’s say on the topic of wine drinking, or going to parties. I believe every believer will not say the same things on these two matters. This is not a chance to now go head to head on the matter and make it a battle of who is right and who is wrong. Both parties can be wrong and right at the same time. This for me is where we have our Christian debates. With Christian debates, we are hearing from both sides of whatever spectrum is being represented and then we are taking from this side, putting it side by side thoughts on the other side and then sieving together. As one body. As one bride.
Love should guide us not a matter of proving yourself right or wrong. Meaning, it should be a case of ‘this is where I stand on the matter’, ‘this is where you stand’, we have to find a common ground and in doing so, we have to look at both sides objectively and seek knowledge and light (revelation). That’s how we should treat issues. Why do we think Paul admonished them to sort out their squabbles within the church. Amongst other possible reasons, it’s because we don’t operate the world’s system.
What does that mean? We are not to have an insider’s perspective, but an outsider’s one. When we look at the world, we stand on the outside of it, up in heaven with Christ. Christ was never a part of our world, He was just living in it! That’s our mindset. We have to keep reminding ourselves of this. So we don’t address certain issues the same way. We have a completely different system from the world and it’s supposed to be better!
What am I saying? Some topics require us to approach it not from a right or wrong perspective but from a ‘why’ perspective. Understanding the world, knowing it, knowing our enemy also and understanding him, that’s how we save the world. It’s not a matter of ‘this person is doing something wrong’, ‘that person doing something wrong.’ We have all sinned!
Just because you’re not of the world anymore does not give you any right to treat the world any less than, because you were once in it! That’s one of the strategies of the devil. When we begin to think in so many small ways that we are better than anyone. We aren’t! Sorry not sorry. Christ is better than all of us because He was the only one able to fulfil the law. And He gave it to us for free. None of us even deserves it. We receive it with humility, we share it in humility.
We need to evaluate so many things as believers. We don’t understand just what it means to be one in the faith. That doesn’t mean we always agree, mind you. We are sooo different as people in soooo many different ways. But we can all still stand for one gospel, one truth, and one mission, to make sure every human being knows about Christ and what He has done for them. When your message starts to shift from this, you begin to miss it. You begin to slip and it never ends well.
So you have a topic to address as a believer, new or old in the faith, take it within first. Dissect it, separate it, scatter it. TOGETHER. Then we can confidently take it out to the world.
Thanks for coming to my TED talk😌.
Have a blessed day!
This was such a spot on read! Remind me of Pastey preached in PH Reboot Camp 2020- we are one body, so we should have one voice when going to face the world
This is good! Thank you for sharing 🙏🏽💯
